Finnish sauna (dry) and ice tub in Spalona
Sheep with a view – sauna in Klodzko Land with a view of the forest
Since the end of February 2026 in the Sheep with a View in Spalona (Bystrzyckie Mountains, Klodzko Land) operates a Finnish sauna (dry) with a panoramic window on the forest. Intimate – for up to 4 people, no squeezing, no crowding, no “hotel SPA”.
Here is the wood. Fire. The silence. And a view of the trees.
And next to it – a wooden tub with cold water for cooling down after sauna. Because real sauning is a familiar rhythm to all sauna-goers: heat and cold.
What is a Finnish (dry) sauna?
A Finnish sauna is a traditional wooden bath with a temperature of 80-100°C and low humidity of 5-15%.
The heat source is a stove with heated stones. When you pour water on them, there is a brief wave of heat – intense, but pleasant. It’s not steam like in a steam sauna. It’s dry, strong heat.
The Finnish sauna in Spalona is an ideal place to regenerate after:
- hiking in the Bystrzyckie Mountains
- Singletrack Glacensis bicycles
- skiing in Zieleniec
- a long day in the mountains of Klodzko Land
What to enter the Finnish sauna in?
You enter the Finnish sauna naked – wrapped only in a towel or sauna kilt made of cotton or linen.
This is the most hygienic solution. We sit or lie down on the towel so that sweat does not drip directly onto the wooden benches.
Why not in a bathing suit? Synthetic materials (lycra, polyester) when exposed to high temperatures can heat up, irritate the skin and impede thermoregulation.
One goes inside barefoot. Flip-flops are left in front of the entrance.
Is it necessary to wear a hat in the sauna?
Yes – and a very reasonable solution.
High temperatures affect the head the fastest. A felt or linen sauna cap protects against overheating, dizziness and excessive dryness of the hair. If you don’t have a cap, a towel turban will suffice.
It’s not folklore. It’s security.
How long to sit in a Finnish sauna?
One session usually lasts 8-15 minutes.
After leaving, cool down the body – with a cold shower or in a tub of cold water. Then rest a few minutes and possibly repeat the whole cycle 2-3 times.
Sauna is not a competition. You have to listen to your body!
Walrus balloon – why is it so important?
Next to the sauna in the Sheep, there is a wooden bale for cooling (a barrel of cold water). This is a key element of proper sauning.
- stimulates circulation
- boosts immunity
- hardens the body
- accelerates recovery
- improves skin tone
In winter, it’s real walruses in the mountains. In summer – a refreshing reset.
What are the benefits of using a Finnish sauna on a regular basis?
Finnish sauna improves circulation and oxygenation of the body. It relaxes muscles and reduces tension.
It supports immunity, improves sleep and reduces stress.
The most important thing is the feeling of lightness and relaxation after the whole cycle.
